Located at our corporate office
in Eagan, MN, this position provides an opportunity to shape the user
interface of online legal products in a global marketplace. Thomson
Reuters' Online Services clients include business units across the globe.
The User Experience Engineer is a member of the Online Services organization
and conducts end user research for the purpose of improving the ease
of use and satisfaction for users of Thomson Reuters' online products.
This position works closely with business analysts, product owners and
project managers to ensure a user centered approach is followed in the
design and development of new products and features.
The ideal candidate should possess a passion for the needs of end users and user centered design while working in a global context. This person will conduct user research studies using a broad range of methodologies (lab studies, field work, cognitive walkthroughs, heuristic evaluations, etc.), make design recommendations to product owners and developers and follow an iterative design process with internal stakeholders. In addition, the individual must have the ability to foucs on customers' needs; knowledge of interaction design and user-centered design principles, familiarity with industry standards for interface design and user testing methodologies and working knowledge of design tools for prototyping. This position has a focus in one of the following specialties: information architecture, visual design, interaction design, or usability research but also contributes to the team as a generalist.
