We are currently seeking an Interactive Designer to join our growing staff. The objective of this position will be to create user-centered designs based on best practices, usability findings, business requirements, technical constraints, site metrics and customer feedback for CaringBridge projects.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plans and manages the user interface design process.2. Champions user needs and continually strive to improve the usability of CaringBridge websites while understanding business needs and technical constraints and making tradeoffs where appropriate.3. Designs interfaces that are both functional and emotive.4. Develops UI architecture, defines scenarios and task flows, explores and proposes new features and develops wireframes and interactive prototypes.5. Supports and participates in usability research and testing of prototypes for projects including persona creation, heuristic evaluations and usability reviews.6. Defines, documents and communicates user interface solutions by articulating the pros and cons and supports choices with clear, detailed evidence and rationale for decisions.7. Collaborates with UX team, business analysts and software engineers to create highly usable and intuitive web interfaces.8. Contributes to the development of mobile strategies.9. Keeps manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.10. Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in UI, Design, Human Factors or related field. • 3-5 years of interaction design or interface design experience or position of similar responsibilities. • Strong skills in user-centered design best practices, information architecture and UI documentation techniques. • Mobile experience a plus. • Experience working on Agile teams a plus. • Ability to articulate and integrate the role of design and then review, cycle and close on design requirements. • Ability to identify simple and intuitive design solutions that incorporate innovative technologies. • Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for the web and mobile. • Strong self-starter with a record of success. • Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills. • Excellent organizational and planning skills. • Excellent understanding of the diverse needs of internet users. • Ability to cope with the rapid pace and constant change associated with the industry. • Ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously. • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with personnel and outside contacts.
